A group made for your symptoms, schedule and goals
- You stop feeling like the only one: Sitting with people who’ve had the same strange, unwanted thoughts does something explaining it to family or friends never quite manages.
- The hours OCD takes up start shrinking: Group therapy is built to interrupt that cycle of checking, confirming, and undoing in small, deliberate steps, not overnight.
- You share at your own pace: Nobody’s expecting you to say more than you’re ready to in your first session.
- Wins actually build on each other: Progress doesn’t reset just because a week passed between sessions.
- This fits into the life you already have, not the other way around.
Why choose Modern?
Modern Recovery’s online OCD group therapy meets you wherever you are to get you the help you need. All sessions are tailored to your unique needs:
It's built for OCD, specifically
- Not a general anxiety group with OCD folded in. Every facilitator is ERP-trained, and every session is structured around exposure work.
Nobody has to explain the thoughts
- OCD is isolating in a way other conditions aren't. The content of the thoughts can feel too strange or shameful to say to anyone who hasn't had them. A room full of people who have changes that.
Healing doesn't stop when the call ends
- Real progress happens between sessions. Your facilitator helps you build a personal exposure hierarchy, then hands you the next rung to climb before the group meets again.
We’re in-network and accept insurance
Online therapy covered by insurance does exist. Modern Recovery works with leading insurance providers across the United States to bring you quality mental health treatment that’s both accessible and affordable.

Our Program Features
Our Group Therapy for OCD is built around Exposure and Response Prevention, with the privacy and lower cost of a virtual program
Confidential sessions from home
You join from a private space on a secure video platform, no waiting room, no chance of running into someone from your neighborhood.
Morning, midday, and evening scheduling
Groups run at each time slot every week, so you pick what fits and keep that same slot for the program instead of hunting for a new time each session.
Family accommodation support
We help the people around you understand how reassurance-seeking and rituals get reinforced at home, and what supporting you can look like instead.
The same small group, every week
Consistency matters for exposure therapy more than it does for most therapy formats, so you keep the same facilitator and peers for the full program.
A hierarchy built around your OCD
Early on, your facilitator maps your specific triggers and compulsions, so the exposures you practice are yours, not a generic curriculum everyone gets.
Discreet and confidential
Receiving treatment from your own home adds a level of privacy that in-person treatment simply can’t offer.
Sometimes group work alone isn’t enough.
Group therapy is where most people start, but OCD doesn’t always stay at one level of intensity. If compulsions are eating up hours of your day, or if progress in group has stalled, we build in more support without moving you to a different provider:
- Individual ERP sessions run alongside your group when a particular compulsion needs one-on-one attention a group format can’t give it.
- Family sessions target accommodation specifically, the reassurance, the rituals your family has absorbed, rather than general family communication.
- Medication management and psychiatric consultations: are available if your symptoms warrant it, coordinated with the same clinical team running your group.
- Case management: helps if OCD has disrupted work, school, or daily logistics enough that you need help untangling those too.
- Once your group ends, we build an aftercare plan so the gains you made don’t erode without structure around them.
